Course Structure
Undergraduate
The basic curriculum provides a framework of core courses around
which a student is allowed to build specialization related subjects
competent manager. The skills and attributes emphasized in the ducational
programme go beyond the formal class room curriculum and include
communication and teamwork skills, computer literacy, design, ability
of self learning, etc.
Single and Dual Specializations and choice of electives.
It is generally expected that every student will specialize in at
least one area (e.g. marketing, finance, HR, etc.) to acquire an
in depth knowledge of that field. The student is also required to
choose one more area out of the remaining fields of specialization
to get general working knowledge of that field; viz a student may
select Marketing as his/her area of specialization, he/she may choose
Finance as the other area of study for acquiring its working knowledge
while the first area of specialization is called major and the second
one is termed as minor. Generally a student would study at least
9 departmental elective subjects, out of which at least 6 electives
shall be from the area of specialization to get the award of major
and at least 3 elective subjects in another area of specialization
to get the award of minor. The flexibility however,
exists for a student to choose specialization subjects in any combination
to complete the requirement of 9 subjects. Flexibility also exists
for a student to choose 6 subjects each in two areas of specialization
to get 2 Majors or 3 subjects each in three areas of specialization
to get 3 Minors award. In the case of Major specializations the
student would have to do a project in each of the areas of specialization
equivalent to 3 subjects. However, in case of Minors, the student
would need to do a project in each of Minors equivalent to 2 subjects.
