Graduate > Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design (3 yrs)
Course Structure
Undergraduate study curriculum,
the degree is most suitable for those who want to make fine art
as a career or pursue higher studies in related fields of creative
nature-designing (film set, costume, furniture, interior, jewelry,
art direction, visualization, onceptualization, Industrial design,
ceramics animation, gallery managing, curatorial practices, illustration,
etc). It offers the opportunity to discover and develop abilities
to help practice independently as a creative individual and to encourage
an attitude towards making work into play and
pleasure.
Our aim is to enable the student to work more independently as an
artist, to generate and elaborate his/her own ideas, and to undertake
further study. Other than studio work, students take part in regular
tutorials and studio seminars (History of Art lectures and seminars
on art from the Renaissance to the present day runs throughout the
year).
The first year is always a foundation year, when all the student
are introduced to the basics of visual art. Second year onwards
they go for their respective specializations-Painting/Sculpture/
Applied Art.
The curriculum comprises core subjects, core electives and optional
subjects. While the core and Core- electives pertain to the department,
the optionals can be drawn from any other streams. Optional may
be chosen from within the department too. All undergraduate degrees
of 4 years duration require a student to complete a minimum of 180
course credits with a minimum of 1.75 CGPA.
Course is divided into Practical and Theoretical subjects For practical
subjects it is a division of 70% continuous evaluation (weekly class
assignments) and 30% end semester portfolio submission. For theory
subjects, it is 50% continuous evaluation (two written assignments)
and 50% end semester written examination.
